Annie Wenstrup entered our orbit when she chose to pursue her M.F.A. in Creative Writing (Poetry, of course) at Stonecoast several years ago. I was impressed from the get-go with her nuance, her knack with forms, and the resolute manner in which her speaker conducts the music of her poems. For today’s The Gnostic Gospels, we are super excited to share a poem from her debut collection,The Museum of Unnatural Histories, forthcoming from Wesleyan University Press in March 2025.

The women walk through the door.
The parade master does not, 
will not, speak to us.
